Advice Needed!!!!

Okay so me and my partner have been together for over 3 years, however the last few months he's been saying he's not sure about things anymore even though he loves me and hasn't been making an effort to work things out. We're thinking a break from each other, have you guys done this before and how did it work? I'd do anything to keep him! I don't know what to do, I'd love to hear what you guys think!!
