Low fluid level- go back tomorrow

Tiffany
I went in for regular check on Thursday (I was 36+5) with sono.  After sono was done the doctor came in etc.  asked me if I've been noticing any discharge yet etc.  he phrased everything in a wonderful way as if this all wasn't leading up to something else just part of the exam.
He then said the sono showed that the fluid around the baby was very low and my fiancé and I would have to head to the hospital.  He said they would repeat the sono there at the hospital as well as check to see if I was leaking fluid and hook me up to monitor baby and lastly that we may be parents by end of the day.  Surprisingly we were super calm and just were like 'alright on we go'. Once at hospital I was hooked up to the monitor and I had no idea but I was having contractions.  They were five minutes apart.  The nurse pointed them out and Isas able to understand what I was feeling and was like 'oh ok that's the contraction' I honestly thought that was just baby moving around.  I feel like an idiot now lol. After a couple hours I went for the sono and it showed fluid was 5.4 or 5.6 I wish I had paid more attention. Doctor came in and said that it was just on the low end of normal and that they wouldn't e delivering me today but he ordered two bags of IV fluid to get the contractions more spaced out and that I had to come back Monday at 1 and repeat sono and non stress test etc.  I was to go home and do nothing but rest all weekend and drink tons and tons of water and see if I could replenish any fluid.  I also had to be making sure baby was active. If I didn't feel 10 kicks in an hour I needed to call immediately or if contractions started again.
Just curious of others experiences of this.
