Taboo Tuesdays: Do you discuss your TTC difficulties?
I can't explain this. Not really. But when I first realized I was having TTC issues - I was mortified. So very embarrassed. As if having difficulty getting pregnant made me LESS of a woman. That it was somehow MY fault. I didn't want to talk to anyone about it. Not friends, not family - not even my husband.
However as time passed - my embarrassment turned to indignation. Why shouldn't I talk about it? I am the one suffering here. Why must I put on a brave face when I am crumbling inside? Why must I coo at your baby when all I want is to go, run and hide?
So slowly, I opened up. First online. Then to family. And finally to friends.
I became that weird chick who tells you about her hysterosalpingogram when you ask her how her week was.
And you know what - IT FELT GOOD. It stilll does. 8-)
