Vaginal birth after c-section?

Question

Has anyone decided to deliver vaginally after having a c-section with their first baby? I didn't progress during my first delivery and had to have a c-section and have been thinking about talking to my doctor about trying to deliver vaginally this time. Any thought? Opinions? Experiences?

I never have experienced that but my mother did. I was a c section and my brother was natural. Just talk to your doctor and see what they say. A lot of doctors where I live won't let you have a baby naturally after a c section. They have said it increases the risk of your uterus to rupture, due to the surgery prior. The surgery makes that area of your uterus weaker. Talk to your doc and think about what works best for you. I hope this helps

I delivered my 4 year-old daughter vaginally aftercare c-section . It all depends on how long ago you had it. For me it was 5 years. I had no issues during labor either.

In my area only two hospitals in the state allow it. So not very common here,  if you have one c section you'll have another

I'm trying to decide this as well. I've been reading a lot of information and it's so confusing. I understand that a vbac is possible and I understand the recovery is easier but all the moms out there who ha meant had an EMERGENCY CSECTION don't get it at all. It's so traumatizing and scary to think you almost lost your baby and I personally have I answers as to why. So I am leaning towards csection because I can't go through that again. I was a no meds mom with my son and it still ended in c section (his HR was dropping to single digits) and we don't know why. At the end of the day do what makes you feel comfortable. There's no reason to go into labor or surgery feeling any added pressure or fear.

I had another c-section after my first but I've known people to deliver vaginallly after a c-section.. I say if you can go for it, wish I could.
