I missed the pill for one day

I missed the pill for one day and took it two late the next day I then had my period on that day and I've had it non stop for 6 days. 2 weeks before I had just finished my period which was bc I  took the sugar pills...everything was fine until I forgot the pills!! why am I bleeding for this long??? I haven't had unprotected sex so that can't be the answer
