Is anyone scared of dying during child birth?

The stats are still pretty high even with all the new medical advances. Maybe im just being paranoid but it actually scares me and so does having a stillborn. :( im not one to be negative but this has just come across my mind.

My sisters friend from high school died in childbirth a couple years ago and it freaked me out, she was just in her mid 20s. But in hearing more about what happened, she really wanted a vbac despite her Dr's recommendation, so she decided to stop going to her Dr's appointments and just show up at the hospital when she was about to have the baby vaginally so they wouldn't have time to c section her. She was also anemic, so she started hemorrhaging and got to the hospital too late for them to help her. So, it made me wonder if a lot of these women who died in childbirth didn't have proper medical care? I think if you have good care and you don't ignore symptoms like bleeding or preeclampsia, the chances are extremely low. At least that's what I tell myself ;)

This will be my 5th delivery and I think about it quite often. I have written a letter to my husband and children letting them know how much I love them. If God does call me home at least I will have been able to give them some peace, by letting them know one last time what they all mean to me. It was a hard letter to write but I pray they never see it!!! If they do at least I get a chance to say good bye. It also holds my advance directives just in case. I have told my husband it's in our hospital bag and he keeps saying I am being dramatic. Lol I told him that I am scared not dramatic.

My mother died while having me they had several tubs down her throat and my father wasn't even there and my mom died 2 she stopped breathing and gain ally started having a really low heart rate. She was bleeding inside and had fluid inside. But I thank good that my mother is okay😭😇 because I don't know that I would do without her

When I read the statistics I was shocked and so now I'm nervous! I even talked to my mom  about it because no way could my husband raise a baby without a ton of help from her! My husband doesn't let me talk about it though because he says I'm just asking for something bad to happen.

I think about it all the time my husband thinks am being negative but I can't help it I get so depressed when I think of loosing my baby or me dying in labor
