Friend got her dog fixed and now she won't eat

My friend rescued a pregnant pitbull months ago and she had her puppies, found them homes and then waited a bit and took her to get fixed. I think she got fixed Tuesday and has barely eaten anything. She's also wallowing around all sad like and is just not the energy filled dog she was. Will she go back to normal? Is this normal at all?
