Advice about abuse?

So I haven't told very many people about this experience, but I was curious if anyone of you had experienced sexual abuse and how you handled it or are coping with it now? 
I'm currently 20 and just told someone about my sexual assult experience about 2 months ago. This happened when I was 15, but I was too scared to tell anyone about it until now. It has caused me so many problems lately, which is why I decided to tell someone.  I don't know what to do or how to deal with it. Also, I haven't told my mom.. Do you think I should? Any advice would be helpful!

I have been sexually assaulted more than once throughout my life and I kept it all in for so long, having no idea it was gonna have a serious impact on me in life. I feel as though this tampered with my soul. When I did start to talk about it with associates or friends, it seems as if no one took it serious or believed me and I have never told any family members because they're always disrespectful to me. You asking for advice or help is an excellent start. Wether you choose to tell your mom or not, get yourself a diary/journal just in case you start to feel alone one day.

I told my mom and she didn't believe me so I didn't talk about it for 20 years it has affected just about everything in my life I still struggle I've found for me the less people know about me the better

I think you should tell your mum but only if you're comfortable.
