I want to start clomid on my own but my dr wants me to wait until i get monitored??

Question

I recently purchased unprescribed clomid because my Dr recommend me it since I'm irregular and I don't ovulate on my own. So I have the 50mg clomid with me and it seems like my period wants to come down. I called my dr so she can explain to me more about clomid but she wants me wait till med December so I can be monitored but me n my husband want to start before Christmas?! ?? 
 Is it really important to be monitored? can't I just start it on my own since it seems like my period is coming down?

Not all Dr monitor however if they do not you can have cysts or failed ovulation or overstimulation resulting in multiples that put you and babies in danger. Also you simply won't know if or how well it worked. It is safer to be monitored and gives you the best chances of pregnancy. Plus if they are doing Uptrasounds they will see how your Eggs are doing and when you need to BD and can give you an injectable if needed

I was just prescribed clomid, and the doctor did not say anything about being monitored.

My first script I took of clomid I didn't even talk to my doc about it. A friend had one more script and she ended up pregnant, so she gave me it. I took it on cycle days 5-9 and ovulated around cycle day 14.  Then I went to the docs after first round failed.

I would definitely wait to be monitored. Monitoring can show your follicles and how you are reacting to the medicine. They can also do blood tests along with it. Since you are really not supposed to be on Clomid for
More than 6 months, I would wait and make the cycle worth it with monitoring!

Clomid has a high occurrence of ovarian hyper stimulation, that's why they monitor your follicles. IMO... It's not worth risking your health over just cause your impatient.
