Chances of getting pregnant.

My husband and I have been married for a little over a year, and the past two times we've had sex, it has been with out any protection whatsoever. We don't particularly want kids right now, but if I ended up pregnant, we would still be happy lol. Anyway my period is supposed to start in a couple days. I read somewhere that the closer to your period the least likely you are to get pregnant...? Is this true? Just curious and wanted other opinions. 😊
