Any mom's/women on here married to a correctional officer?

What is your advice on coping with their chosen career? Has the job directly affected your partners attitude or how they react to different situations?

Does your partner or you fear for their life? I've never been around anyone who has this as a career but my husband is currently in the academy to become one very soon. I'm so nervous and I've been having a hard time with him being gone all week while I'm home taking care of our kids (6 y.o, 3 y.o, & 4 weeks old). I'm also really scared about moving to a different city (2 1/2 hours away) where I don't know anyone ):

My husband was in corrections for 8 years.. he started when we got married. Our family was threatened several times but we never feared. I am a law enforcement officer and know how to protect me and my own. The life was rough. He worked nights. But we made it through.. yeah has since left and is now a law enforcement officer as well.

My husband was a correctional officer when we got back together  (high school sweethearts). It's a really tough position. He chose to leave the field after 5 years (had been a corrections officer as well as sheriff's deputy). I did worry about him, but I'm generally a worrier anyway. I'm here to talk if you need to!
