Single or Double Pump?

Question

Ok, so my insurance, because I work for the state (teacher) does not cover my breast pump. Therefore, I am stuck paying for it myself.
My question is this...how important/convenient is it to have a double pump vs. a single pump. The single pump option costs so much less...being a FTM, I am not sure how worth it the extra cost will be if I were to go with the double pump. Anyone with experience that can advise me?

I'm a teacher too and will have limited time to pump, double is necessary to save time!

i bought a double avent. i'm a teacher, too, and i'll have to pump at work, so i figured a double one would be better and faster.

If you are going to pump at school you NEED a double pump. There is no way I would have had enough time in my prep to do one side at a time. (I nursed/pumped for a year)

I had the Medela pump where t can be a single or a double. At around 4 months little stinker decided she like drinking from bottles better than from mommy, so the double part was a lifesaver (I exclusively pumped and put in bottles for her). I did use the single part to help drain one side or another before bed after she fed. It just depends on what you are thinking you will use it for

I'm a teacher in Florida and got my pump through my insurance at no cost but did buy a battery pack because it didn't cover that. But with my first baby it didn't cover it and I went with a single pump. It was ok. Wanted a double pump to be able to clean it one time not twice (sometimes would clog in between switching boobs so had to clean in between).

Check out the spectra on Amazon. It's a hospital grade double pump. They sell for about $130 on Amazon

I would double check and talk to someone at your insurance. I believe it may be federally mandated that they cover breast pumps.

I would also call them directly if you haven't. I'm also a teacher and my insurance is paying for my pump.
