Has anyone been induced?

Ultrasound from today 31+3 she is measuring at 31+4 so right on target. Can't wait to hold my baby girl :)
 
So are you able to request an induction? Do you know when? I am due aug 21st, but I start classes August 29th so I'm wondering if I can get induced a week before my due date just to heal and get settled in.

They won't unless there's a medical reason to do so.

I do not reccomend inductions unless medically necessary. Trust me. It's forcing your baby into something it's not ready for yet and it can be extremely painful. If I didn't have a condition that could potentially cause stillbirth I'd just leave my baby in there till he's ready.

Went into labor with my first and I was induced with my second. I prefer going into labor. The pain wasn't at bad. The baby didn't come as fast. With my second the medicine they gave me for my cervix to soften made my son drop down into the birth canal so fast that he was bruised and looked like he had gotten into a fight. He also broke his collar bone.

Going into labor was slower but at least my baby was more comfortable and came on his own time.

Must be medically necessary. With my first I didn't get induced until 41.5 weeks!  Don't recommend doing it early.

I don't know if it's different at different doctors offices but mine will not induce unless medically necessary before 40 weeks exactly. I was induced at 41 weeks with my first son, and I don't recommend doing it voluntarily.

Inductions are NOT easy and keep in mind they increase your chances of c section dramatically (baby often goes into distress or no progress is made bc baby isn't ready to come out yet), which is likely to increase your recovery time as well..

I have tried four different doctors all of which said no, I only want indiced so my husband doesn't miss her birth and I have a ride to the hospital. I really don't want an ambulance so I'll probably drive myself.

My first birth was induced just because my doctor suggested it. They won't do it any sooner than 39 weeks by law though. Well at least they won't in Florida,could be different in your state.
