C section mommas...

Ok so 1 week ago i had an emergency c section. Came home Sunday night. My better half checks my wound everymighy as they showed him how to. a few of my steri strips have already come off. Towards one end of my incision i have reopened the wound. Only like maybe one stitch, about the size of a steei strip. I have no fever and no pain (no new pain ) its slightly red but not super red . He said its no big deal unless it shows signs of infection and that ive been to active. I do get up to pump every two hours.

Anyways i totally trust him and believe him when says the doctors told him all this stuff because I was so drugged i dont remember. We are definitely calling the doctor on the morning but not rishing to the er over it.

My question is how often does this happen? What can i do to prevent this from happening again and should i put anything on it to make.it better or so it dosnt get infected?
