Storing too much milk?

Question

I have a small freezer, so I don't have much room for storing my milk.. I've been pumping between 8-10 oz per session and currently have 75+ oz in freezer and 68oz in my fridge.   My lo is only 11 days old, eats about 20-25oz a day. I'm not sure I can keep up with storing this much milk..any suggestions? (Side note my husband thinks the amount of milk I have and pumping every 3hrs is overkill, so I don't have much support on that end)

It's wonderful to have a great stash of milk but also remember that the milk that you make changes to the baby's needs as he/she grows. The nutrition is totally different depending on their age. So yes, it's great to store all this milk but if you aren't going to use right away it's not the best either. For example, giving a three month old the milk you pumped when they were one month old is not optimal nutrition because the protein/fat content Etc. all changes as they grow. Just something to keep in mind. I figured I would stockpile milk as well but after learning about this from my lactation consultant, la leche league meetings, and through my own research I have decided against it. Donation like others mentioned is also a great idea!

If you think you can afford to go a little longer between sessions, it'll decrease the amount you pump. BUT, that can come with consequences as baby is going to hit several growth spurts and you'll be thankful you have all that milk when the cluster feeding begins. When freezing your milk, lay the bags flat, you'll be able to store more in the freezer. With my first baby, I had so much extra milk (750 ounces) that hubby bought me a deep freezer. I was able to continue to save milk everyday and feed my son. I pumped till he was 13 months old and he continued to get breast milk until he was 19 months old.
