Animal and toddlers sensing pregnancy

So I spent this weekend camping with my in laws. They have a dog that normally is friendly but kind of indifferent toward me. I'm kind of the same to her I guess lol. But this weekend she was super friendly!! She wanted to sleep with me and sit by me. It was so weird. Then today when we got home, my 2 year old daughter suddenly comes up and puts her hand on my belly and says "mom, you got a baby?" My step sister and best friend are both pregnant and we've been trying to explain it to her but she hasn't seemed to catch on. Now that we haven't seen either of them for a month, it was so strange that she brought it up out of the blue like that. I'm just curious to hear other people's experiences with animals or toddlers before their BFP
