Best pregnancy test

Hi! I used a generic brand and it says negative but my period is late and I had unprotected sex. Has anyone had experience with other brands? First response or clear blue, or something else? Or know a bit more about it? I feel like they're probably all made the same, to detect the exact same pregnancy hormone, and companies just prey off of our anxiety and charge twice as much, but I could be wrong! (And yes, the name brands literally cost twice as much — $30 for a 3 pack instead of $15 for a 3 pack.) But I'll buy it if anyone thinks it really does make a difference. Thanks!
