Turning Baby

Just found out that baby is breech. Dr. has offered to do an external cephalic version. Has anyone had this done and was your doctor successful? Did baby stay head down and did you use any medication for the discomfort? Trying to weigh my pros and cons but need to make a decision quickly as this is my 37th week and if we wait any longer, she may be too big to turn. Thank in advance!
