AF??? Please help.

I am one week late I took a pregnancy test on Wednesday it was negative. Last night when I went to bathroom I wiped and noted some brown color blood. I assumed it was my period. I always get heavy periods and painful cramps since I was a young girl. Always regular never late. When I woke up this morning there was the same thing. But not a full heavy period like I get....I don't even have cramps. Do you guys think it's my period?? I am just confused because it's never been this way before.
