What age can baby go in the pool with me?

My son is a little over 2 months and we have an in ground pool, is he still too young? One nurse said 6 months and another nurse said after he gets his 2 months shots he should be fine. Anyone have experience and know?

My little guy went swimming in a bath water temp pool at 9 weeks. He loved it and was perfectly fine but I did have a Dad come up and ask me how old he was and said he was too young...and also that I might get some dirty looks from others. My mom did the same with my siblings & I and we all have great immune systems and love water...

Our little man was in a pool at 9 weeks. We live in Houston and were outside at a cookout so we used the water to cool off so I wasn't worried about the temperature being too cool, plus he was snuggled with daddy the whole time! I did take a thermometer with me to check his temp because I needed peace of mind and he was fine! We made sure to bath him and put lots of baby lotion on him after his bath and his skin was fine!

Because of chlorine and other chemicals to keep it clean, I personally would say wait a year before getting them in a pool. Fresh water like creeks and rivers are perfect because it's nature lol. I just worry about the harsh chemicals in pools unless it's a salt water pool- no chemicals, no chlorine in salt water pools.

My son started at 8 weeks in our own pool. Our pool is 92 degrees. We are also starting a swim class at 9 weeks in a public pool which they start babies at 8 weeks.

At that age they still have a hard time regulating their body heat.. I read the water needs to be at least 87° and if they start shivering its time to get out.
