How long does your baby sleep at night?

My baby is 6 weeks old and is usually up twice a night to eat. I'm feeling discouraged by a coworker who said, "I had both my babies sleeping through the night by 6 weeks." I feel like we're not even close to that happening!!!

Sleeping through is a developmental milestone that some kids reach earlier than others. Your child is completely normal. Mine started sleeping through at 7 months when she no longer needed a night feed.

Don't listen to other people, every baby is different. My baby is 5 and a half weeks and she isn't in any routine yet. Through the night she sometimes sleeps 3/4 hours and more recently sleeping 5/6 hours. But on the random occasion she'll wake up hungry after 2 hours. At this point it's really unpredictable and in my opinion too early to get baby in a routine as they start going through growth spurts at this point too. Don't worry that your baby's not sleeping through the night it's completely normal :) x

My 8 week old goes down between 6.30 and 7.30pm, wakes up for a feed between 1.30 and 2.30am and then sleeps til 6.30 to 7.30 :) give or take and obviously some nights he decides to party all night, so this is generally speaking.

Ignore that coworker and everyone else! Every baby is different. My 3 year old STILL gets up at night. But my 4 month old will sleep 5-6 hours the first stretch and then 2-3 hours.
