Low progesterone?

My husband and I have been trying since October to have a baby. When I went off birth control in October I didn't have a period until my doctor prescribed me progesterone to take and I got a period and convinced! But then a few weeks later lost the baby. Period was in February and miscarriage was in March. Well I didn't have a period again until the doctor had me take the progesterone on May. Now I'm almost a week late and no period and no positive. I have been on birth control period to this for 5 years so I don't actually know how my cycle works (regular or not) I have a follow up appointment in August but I don't want to wait that long. Does anyone else have this problem? I just want to know how common it is.
