How many ultrasounds does your doctor do?

I'm just curious how many ultrasounds doctors typically do for you. Is it just the first one & the 20 week one, or should I be having another one later?

I've had so many ultrasounds. I had one at 8 weeks then at 12. Then 2 a week from my doctor. I just ask her and she says okay! And I'm 32 weeks and still recieving one each appointment :)

I think it depends on what your health insurance covers. Mine covers quite a few, so I'll be going in for my second ultrasound at my 18 week appointment.

I have to get one once every month since I have cysts.

My midwife only does the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Other than that nothing unless something isn't tracking perfectly. I ended up getting a second one at 36 weeks because my belly was measuring small to check on baby's growth. Everything was a-okay but they wouldn't have done a second ultrasound if I was measuring on time

I think it depends on where you are, your doctor, and your insurance. My doctor does a scan on every appointment. When my sister was pregnant (we share the same doctor), she had appointments every 3 weeks until i think week 28 or something like that. Then every 2 weeks until week 34 or 35 and then every week until birth. And on every appointment she got a scan.

My dr said two the early one to help find the due date and the 20 wk one to determine gender and check hiw things are progressing
