Stationary or gliding ottoman/footrest for the nursery?

My husband and I are having a debate about what kind of foot rest or ottoman will be more functional for the nursery: one that glides or one that is stationary? This is assuming that the chair we get is a glider.

I have a stationary one and like that I can use it to sort of push off of to rock the chair.
