Newly married and technically still a virgin

My hubby and I just got married and we are both virgins. I want to get some advice on what to do. We have been patiently and creatively trying to have sex, but I mentally freak out by the minimal pain and want to stop. I truly know this is all mental and I need to get over it, but I think you all might know what is going on with me. My husband is very patient and careful with me, however I don't want to abuse this honeymoon period.
