Why risk it if there is even the slightest chance?!  Baby will come when ready, and as long as it's not medically necessary, I'm happy to let my little girl stay in there until she's finished baking.

It didn't work for me. I took it after 5 hours of early labor with my first. I got explosive diarrhea, slightly dehydrated, and a sore butthole. Contractions did not speed up. My midwife then and my midwife now both do not endorse or recommend it.

I know people who have used it and it was five but I also know people whose babies died. Not worth the risk of you ask me, besides it makes u sick and if your body isn't ready it won't even work.

I found a medical study on term pregnancies and castor oil. I believe the study was done on mothers from 37-42 weeks. The meconium babies were typically from the over due moms and I believe the study concluded that meconium and castor oil couldn't be connected by the evidence. I can't remember where I found the study but I do remember that it was accredited. With that being said, it's known to make mom pretty sick. I wouldn't do it

I used it with both my kids and it worked, perfectly healthy. They've done studies that say there wasn't a significantly higher risk in those that passed meconium due to the oil or just because. But as always, consult your care provider.

I work with a nurse that used to work OB and she told me not to use that and just let it happen naturally so that's what I'm doing..

A lot of people will say your baby will poop in the womb, eat it and can die. I really did research on it though and saw that's not true, though there are some other risks. It is super controversial, so dont just take anyones word for it. Just talk to your doctor and do your research. It pretty much has a 50/50 chance of working.
