No effect unless you throw up. Generally it takes 4 hours for the pill to and or so if you take your pill at 4pm, don't throw up until after 8pm (or you know, just be responsible enough not to throw up)

Alcohol makes the pill less effective. So if you're going to drink, and are planning to have sex that night, make sure you use another form of contraception.
