Only gestational sac?

Question

I was 5 weeks 4 days and had to go to the ER for cramping so bad. Well 5 hours later I got an ultrasound. I couldn't see the screen though. They said there was only a gestational sac. In my last pregnancy I got an ultrasound at 5 weeks 2 days and we seen a tiny baby. Has anyone ever had this happen?

UPDATE: went to my OB. Definitely not empty. She seen a yolk sack but no baby. I swear I seen a baby though. Go back next Friday. 😊

With both of my MC at 6 there was the tiniest babe no heart beat tho. Every pregnancy is different it could be way to early

This happened to me at 5 weeks and I got a scan two weeks later was still the same, had to get a d and c xx

I only had a gestional sack at 5+3. 
Due to bleeding I had an early ultrasound.
My midwife told me not to think the worse, as it was still so early it could go both ways.
I kept bleeding for two days.
At 6+2 I had another ultrasound, and there was a bright spot that kept lighting up, I was told that was my baby.
At 8 weeks a new us was made, and they were right, I was pregnant.
Today I'm 20+6.

So like my midwife said, it's still so early, it could go both ways.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you will see your little baby on your next ultrasound!

Give it a couple more weeks baby is probably to tiny to see but call your dr see if anything they can order a blood test

It's really hard to say this early. If you ovulated even a little late, this would be totally normal. Have you called your doc for a follow-up ultrasound? I know it's hard, but you'll just have to wait a little to see. Good luck!
