Nipple pain

Over the past week I have had a disconnecting bump on the centre of my nipple it was a normal colour that sort of just hung off and hurt when moved however it's progressed into a clear/brown/red colour and is really worrying me, I'm not sure whether or not it's a normal thing to go get checked out? Please help!
