Today I was told I have HPV.... its pre-cancerous right now they believe, but they want to get a biopsy done and make sure it's not cancer.

My mom had it. Had to have a hysterectomy. They are thinking I might, too..

I don't know what to do. HPV is sexually transmitted, but it's not like chylmidea (sp) or anything. I'm scared. I've been with the same guy for 7 months, have been tested and everything at least twice since being together... so I don't know what to say or think. I haven't cheated. He hasn't cheated. But it could be there without showing up for years. I just don't know. The doctors seem worried, which makes me worried. I am 20. Always practice safe sex and everything. But if it's just something you get, then you can't help it, right? Because I am confused the way they explained it. That I do not have an STD, but it can be contracted from sex.. and my mom got diagnosed with the same thing and it was her cancer... so you obviously can't get that from sex... I don't know what to do...
