What are you feeding your 4 month olds?

My milk doesn't seem to be satisfying my baby anymore so of course we are adding foods. What kind of foods are you giving your baby?

My baby's Doctor said no rice cereal because there is arsenic in it. She said give her oatmeal instead. She said the main reason people give rice cereal is for the iron. She said you can get iron from other foods like ground up meat.

We did rice cereal first, avocado, peas and oatmeal. I'm also going to wait to do fruits last. I've used this chart for 4 months old and I just make it myself by throwing an avocado in the blender with a little of my milk. We're mostly organic and that's way cheaper than buying pre made organic purées and i get to add my milk. I know some people are against the cereals but I felt like it was a really good start for us since it mostly tasted like the milk he is used to and obviously still has a ton of nutrition because of that :)

So far just breastmilk only. He has just started to pay attention to us eating so maybe soon we will start some rice cereal with breastmilk added. I have it bought but still waiting to try it.

We started supplememting with Similac since im back to work and couldnt express enough milk for daytime - so one bottle at nights gives me time to pump once more in the day - so for now its breastmilk and similac. Per our Dr. Recommendation, We will start her on rice cereal at 6months (we will be making it at home and are not concerned with arsenic levels.  I'm persian, rice is consumed in my house daily lol im also a chemist in the research field - when u cook rice like u would pasta, you decrease levels of arsenic drastically)

Our doc said our lil guy is ready for stage one food ... So far we did oatmeal and green beans ... Tomorrow trying bananas ... We are alternating veggie than fruit ... So cute how much he is enjoying food

My DR told us we should first start with rice or oatmeal cereal. Wait 3-4 days to make sure no allergies. Then move on to veggies first, fruits last. I've just been buying baby food that is stage one. Carrots, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, and apples are what I've found to be common for 4m. Hope this helps!

I never produced milk so we have been giving her soy formula, but she has been really gassy lately so we are switching her to enfamil gentlease and see if that helps her little tummy.
