Depo shot

I've been on the depo shot for about 10 months and I was a few days late getting my last injection like 4-5 days and since I got my second injection my periods have stopped completely no spotting at all either. But this month I have spotted just a little and I'm a bit worried about having unprotected sex Incase I'm not completely protected this time because I have been spotting. Am I just being really paranoid or should I be okay?
