Why does the idea losing your virginity got to be so stressful as you get older?

I mean in high school i didnt really care about sex i told myself ill wait till i was 17 or when i felt ready. But the thing is that just trying to date and get my life together at 19 now turning 20 in a month it is hard and i just want to experience it with someone but its hard to know if that someone is even going to come around.
