Keeping in-laws away....
I wrote such a long version and deleted it. Basically...My in-laws are...hyper religious. A very specific religion. You can love God and be a wonderful person but if you don't have this certain religious label...they will hate you. Flat out.
Hubby is not in this religion and he's shunned. I've been treated like garbage. I have decided I will no longer have contact with them. Hubby says he's glad of that and he doesn't want much contact either.
We're TTC now...and I already feel so protective. They would never be allowed alone with my babies. Ever. This religions teachings are so embedded that I have no problem believing they'll do whatever it takes to "save" a little lost lamb so it'll join their flock.
Hubby knows all this and doesn't want our kids around them either. But I know it still hurts him that his parents can be so horrible. So cruel.
Ladies, have any of you had to put up a strong wall to keep your family away from the parents(in-laws)? I guess it's easier a little knowing hubby agrees and is on my/our side. But still...I don't know. I guess I just wanted to get this out there and connect with others. Thanks for listening, so to speak.
