Painting a crib?

Question

Has anybody ever painted a crib? I have read so many articles. From use a regular primer to only use specialty primer from you can use regular paint with low to no vocs like sherwin williams harmony to only use paint like milk paint or lullaby paint and from not topcoats what so ever to any will do that is waterbased. Can any one give any insight? My mind is turning to goo after reading all the articles.

My husband just painted our white one blue and I have no clue what kind of paint he used its horrible I never even thought about it. I may have to ask him now or start trying to find those plastic guards to put on lol

Haha yep I've been there feeling so lost. So we painted the crib with a paint that had low voc's or whatever they're referred to. It should be fine. Think of what manufacturers paint their cribs with! Probably nothing better! And if our baby starts chewing on the sides we will just get teether gaurds for it in the future. I wouldn't stress about it and I def wouldn't buy a super expensive specialty paint either.
