If you get migraines regularly, you may be unable to use combination methods of birth control, which include the combination pill, vaginal rings and dermal patches. These methods contain both an eostrogen and a progestin, but the eostrogen can make migraines worse or more frequent when you already suffer from them. You will most likely have to use progestin only methods, which include the mini-pill, the implant and IUDs.There is also a non-hormonal or copper IUD.Your best bet is to speak with your doctor though.
Birth Control Recommendations?
Hey, I'm 21 and I really want to start taking birth control alongside using condoms. It always makes me nervous not being on bc. I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for a year and a half. Anytime I do research about birth control I always hear horror stories! Any help ladies?
Anyways:
I am 21
Have never smoked
Have a history of migraines
Have painful periods, sometimes having two in a month
Forgetful but can follow a daily regimen (I'm a busy college student but I have a very nice planner and I take vitamins daily)
