Can you compare contractions to something else that menstrual cramps?

I've never had menstrual cramps in my life and would like to know how does it feel to have contractions. How do you differentiate between the baby moving and having the contractions??

with my first I didn't know I was in labor.. I thought I had to poop! I know everyone gets the explosive diarrhea to where it happens out of the blue and wakes you up in the middle of the night and your stomach gets hard and your toes curl... you practically breathe like your in labor! yeah sorry so graphic but I know everyone has had those shits.. that's how it was for me and when I couldn't poo I thought I was constipated so I gave myself an enema... "you'll do anything for relief when your huge and pregnant lol" but I still didn't poo.. i knew then that something wasn't right so I told my mom... sure enough I was in labor.. haha. . funny story to look back on but that's how my first one went.

For me it was intense lower back pain... My contractions were all in my back!

Ever had food poisoning? It's like the pain you get when you have the runs- menstrual cramps that is.. Iv never had labour pains though!

You will know when it's the real deal. I started getting an intense feeling in my pelvic area. I could barely walk upright. It made me cringe. I didn't know these were contractions at the time but glad I went to hospital becuase they were 2 minutes apart.

I'm not sure how to describe it honestly. It was nothing like a period cramp. It literally hurt for people to look at me. I couldn't talk nor did I want too. I just wanted to curl into ball.  Even the times in between, which the pain subsides, I just felt awful

Poop cramps? There's really nothing else....it's a unique feeling.

A contraction is a sharp pain. For me it was a mixture between period cramps but also That feeling you get in your stomach when you have to use the restrom and it feels like your insides are crushing up right before you explode. A baby movement is very different unless the baby kicks a rib, that hurts. If you have any fat on you, take one side and start to move your hand under one side and you can feel it on the top side. Thats how baby movements feel when they're just moving around.
