Different blood?

Usually my period blood is a dark almost brown color but this time it is bright as if I got cut and started to bleed and there is a lot. I have been having stomach aches lately different than my usual cramps and am wondering if something is wrong? Yesterday I was playing softball and took a line drive to the gut. Could it be a sign of internal bleeding?
