HELP. Need advice

So I have a bf I've been with for about 9 months . I'm naturally shy and quiet but I don't want to be that way with him . He doesn't like texting and I don't like talking on the phone because it always seems like there's nothing to talk about . Idk why I'm like this and sometimes he tells me I don't act like I want to be with him which I do ! I don't know why I'm still so quiet and stuck in my shell. What should i do!
