Can I have water before C-section?

I have a c-section tomorrow morning at 8am..and was told no food after midnight. Am I at least allowed to drink water? I wake up a lot during the night needing water..OB is already closed.

We say no fluids but if really needed only take small small sips of water xx

The reason they say no food or drink the night before is because of the medication that they give you to numb you. They don't want you to aspirate on anything when laying down.
