getting rid of baby clothes? BF says not to

Question

So before you vote here's a little background info: I was born 3 weeks early and was 4 lbs 6 oz. my boyfriend was 6 lbs when he was born. so when we were waiting for our baby girl we assumed she would be around 5 or 6 lbs. the doct9r told me 6 to 7 lbs. no. when she was born she was 8 lbs 3 oz. no longer fit into newborn diapers by 3 days old. and by 1 month old most of her newborn clothing doesn't fit. I wanted to sell most of it besides a few outfits I really liked and wanted to keep.  my boyfriend says not to unless the next child we have is a girl  (which won't be trying for another baby for at least 2 years from now.)....but I don't think it will matter because I feel like the next baby we have will probably be around the same size. what do you think? keep or get rid of them?

I say keep because you never know. I got rid some of my daughter's clothes then found out I was pregnant when she was 8 months old. It was huge shock since I was on birth control. I'm having another girl and I'm so happy that I kept most of her clothes and a lot of other things.

Throw them in a tote or vacuum sealed bag. Might as well keep them and save a little money. Unless something is explicitly a girl item you can use it on a boy. That's what we're doing - though I have a boy so unless something says boy, it'll go on a girl.

I would honestly just keep the ones you love clothes can easily be replaced. And what happens if the next one is 10 lbs? She wouldn't fit them then anyway lol

I recomend keeping them.  I gave away most of my sons clothes as we planned on waiting 5-6 years before trying again ..   haha once my son turned one we decided to try for another , it took us over a year of trying but I got pregnant with another boy, theIr birthdays being only a couple months apart . So I could have used all the same clothes (most of which were new because my 1st was born nearly 11 lbs and didn't wear any of the nb.)

Keep! My sister in law had 2 babies 8lbs each four years apart. Her second baby was much longer and fit in newborn for over 2 months. Point is you never know.

I kept my firstborn clothes. He was born in 2012. I just recently had my 2nd son June 22 and I'm thankful I kept them. I love comparing their pics. As for the size, my firstborn was 6lb 13oz and my 2nd was 8lb 9oz. He's growing out of newborn clothes!!!

I would definitely keep them. I didn't even plan on having more than 1 child but kept my daughters clothes. I now have 2 girls, and am so glad I kept the clothes from my 1st! Not only does it save you a ton of money, but it's also super cute to see them wearing the same outfits their sibling wore :)

You never know how big a baby will be. My brother was first and was almost 9 pounds and he was a week early. I was born 2 years later and was a week late and I was 7 pounds. I had complications with my son and he was born at 29 weeks. He wore NB for over a month.

Note; I just mean get rid of the new born sized clothing. not all of it in general. since 75 percent of it she didn't even get to wear because she was already to bug for it by 3 weeks old.
