Is it too soon to tell...?!

Hi Everyone! I just found out this week that I'm pregnant (only 5 weeks) I know everyone would say it is too early to share the news, but my parents happen to be home from out of town this week for a family reunion and I'd love to be able to share the news with them in person. Am I being selfish in wanting to share the exciting news with parents, but expecting them to keep it a secret for the next 7 weeks?? Help! (Thanks in advance 🙂)

I waited until we got a confirmed heartbeat on an ultrasound before telling family because I didn't want them getting all excited until I knew it was a viable pregnancy. I've had 4 pregnancies, one I lost, and yes I did tell them afterwards but they were less upset I think than if I told them I was pregnant and then had to tell them I  lost the pregnancy later. But if your family is the type where you share everything, tell them :)

My fiancé &I I had been trying for 8 months to get pregnant, so the day we found out we had a very hard time keeping it in! We told my our parents & siblings only, because the way we saw it god forbid anything were to happen they would be our support system.

I told my mom right away and he told his mom and they knew and kept it to themselves until 16 weeks

If you want to tell them, tell them. Are they people that would comfort you if you lost the baby, then they're people that deserve to know early. I told my parents early in September, I miscarried in October & thank god I had family to comfort me. I got pregnant with my Rainbow Baby in February and told them just as early.

Nope not selfish I did the exact same thing! My moms dad passed away this past November and she was so sad they didn't even want to celebrate Xmas. We live 9 hours away and I found out I was pregnant at Christmas. I was only 4 weeks but decided to tell them to make their Christmas a little brighter with hope. I told them it's still very early and things can happen and to keep it a secret for a while. They were overjoyed and had a wonderful holiday. No regrets here! I'm now almost 33 weeks 😊
