Anyone else have symptoms with only mild anemia?

Question

Last week I mentioned to my doctor that I've had a few episodes of shortness of breath/rapid heart rate. He referred me to a cardiologist which I think is unnecessary. This week I took the gestational diabetes test and discovered I'm slightly anemic. Is it possible I can feel anemia symptoms even though it's mild? I know anemia is common so I wanted to see what others have experienced. My doctors office has been less than helpful all the way around😒 
A little background, I'm a FTM and had a smooth pregnancy until two weeks ago (27 weeks pregnant at the time) when I experienced a minor placenta abruption and went into preterm labor so now I'm paranoid.

My levels were 10.7 but I feel like they should be at 1. I feel terrible most days. Today was the first day I felt great! Maybe my iron pills have started to kick in

It depends on your levels. If your at 10+ then I highly doubt you are having symptoms from the anemia alone.

I also found out I'm mildly anemic from my gastational diabetes bloodwork. My doctor perscribed me some iron pills to take every other day but made it seem like it was no big deal! Very common in pregnancy.

I am severely anemic (hemoglobin at 8.7 at gestational diabetes appointment) and my OB has referred me to a hematologist. I think symptoms of anemia really vary person to person. For having such severely low iron levels I feel perfectly fine. I also have 3 kids so I don't think I would noticed excessive sleepiness or breathlessness because it seems I'm always tired and out of breath anyway lol. Anemia is super common and usually iron supplements will help with the symptoms. I've been told irregular heartbeat and loss of breath are definitely very common for anemia.
