Hospital bag/ what do I NEED?

Question

So I'm due 9/22 maybe sooner. But I want to start packing bags for me and the baby. What are some things I really need and things that don't really matter. I was told not to worry about diapers or bottles because the hospital provides that. And comfortable sleeping clothes for me as well and a coming home outfit for me and the baby.

I went on Pinterest and read the blogs for hospital bags. Truly tells you what you need and what you can leave out. But, as a FTM, I might overpack just to be prepared!😊 haha

For baby, gowns or pjs is really all you need. Maybe a nice blanket for the background of hospital pics.

For you- either gowns or 2 piece pjs (but I never wore the bottoms- nurses are always checking your bottom- but covered up, visitors don't realize it. I wore nursing tanks as bras. Robe, Slippers. I also packed a notepad and pen, preloaded tooth brushes (for cotton mouth), roll of quarters for vending.

My friend's little boy is 2wks old and she suggested something sugary to snack on, loose pj's or nightdress to help with feeding, baggy shirt or nightdress to deliver in. 3 in 1 shampoo/conditioner/shower gel for showering after and pads. Couple of changes of clothes in case you end up staying in.

If start by calling your hospital and asking what they provide so you don't double pack bc going home is a trip for sure I've had 2 and I'll be packing very light this time. My entire trunk was full after my first lol really you just need comfy clothes while your there and clothes for baby and chargers everything else really hospitals provide also if your breastfeeding your going to want to pack nursing bras and tank tops and nursing pass my milk came in before I left the hospital

They have all these premade check lists.... Ignore most of them! Make your own. Do a section for you like...hair & tooth brush, ChapStick, deodorant, comfy clothes, undies (they provide pads)....baby...going home outfit, blankie, cap, socks etc
Electronics....phone, camera, chargers. 
In my case, mp3 player and sons tablet and portable DVD player to keep him occupied.
