How does the morning after pill work?

I haven't had sex yet and so I haven't gotten birth control yet. Me and this guy want to have sex and duh I'm going use a condom(we'd be stupid if we didn't) but I wanted to make sure I was covered on my end. 
So how exactly does the morning after pill work?

DO NOT take the morning after pill if you use a condom correctly and check if theres no leaks/breakage. The pill is for emergencys only not for "just in case". Make himm pull out for extra precaution with the condom if your paranoid.

It either stops ovulation or sheds your uterine lining. I wouldn't take it "just in case" unless you have an accident as its a huge amount of hormones that can really fuck up your body.
