Anyone have a good experience with the paragaurd?

I didn't have any negative side effects other than heavier periods... but other than that it was good. I breastfed so I wanted something hormone free.

I had Paraguard for 3 years before having it removed to start TTC. I LOVED it.  I had one failed insertion by a GYN who, looking back, just wasn't very skilled, but Paraguard replaced it and I took it to a different GYN who was much better. He placed it like a pro and I didn't have a single problem after that.

I has slightly heavier periods for a couple months but honestly, I think they went back to normal after that. I was super vigilant about checking my strings each month, because I am also a menstrual cup user. Other than that, I loved that I could totally forget about birth control. If my husband chose not to get a vasectomy after we're done having kids, I would definitely get another Paraguard.

I had it for 3.5 years. No side effects except super heavy periods every month.

However, I did get pregnant with it in place. I am currently 10.5 weeks with surprise baby number 3.
