Too much to ask?

Is it too much for me to ask my mother in law to get her whooping cough vaccine? 
She's acting like its the end of the world for her to get one little shot, when it could end up saving MY child from getting horribly sick.

If my MIL didn't get it she can enjoy her grandchild from afar. There's sooo many stories I can tell u after working in peds as a nurse for years. Pertussis can be given so easily to a baby. I've had so many parents bring in their newborn struggling for air and is calling the squad, mean while we found out the nanny or grandma never got the vaccine. Sorry it's one thing I'll put my foot down. Have your husband talk to her or show her this post...bc that's just selfish :)

When I was pregnant with our son seven years ago this vaccine was never mentioned. He stayed in daycare when I went back to work and in four years they never reported a case, maybe RSV a couple times and lice, but no whooping cough. Has the infection rate increased since 2009?
