Pumping at 39 weeks pregnant?

So I have heard boob/ nipple stimulation helps with natural labor. I'm getting induced Monday but trying my best to go into labor naturally. Of course I have been googling things and have read that if I do pump while still pregnant it could cut off oxygen supply to the baby? True or false?

I don't see how that would cut off oxygen to the baby. Some women still nurse their older babies through pregnancy and then also their new born babies after birth.

It actually can cause your contractions to be too intense and close together which can be very bad for the baby. It's when you over stimulate. The problem is most people don't know how much is too much.

I used it with my doctor's advice with both my son and my daughter. I was 37 weeks with my 10 lb son, did it during early labor & 41 weeks with my 8 1/2 lb daughter. It produced some pretty good contractions and no harm to either baby, born perfectly healthy😊

I wouldn't try that..  Go on walks, yoga ball or sex or spicy foods. Good luck!

Nipple stim is VERY powerful and should only be done under the supervision of an OB or midwife. It can also cause stress to the baby especially if you start before your body is ready. I would do something else instead.
