Couldn't you just install the base and leave the seat in your house until you go deliver? That way if you had an accident you would only need to replace the base and not the whole shebang

Some people say to wait incase God forbid your car is in an accident or something. I'm going to wait because I work in one of the worst neighborhoods in NYC so I'll probably wait...lots of break-ins.

I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow and have 2 more weeks of work before I'm done. Because I'll be driving my car regularly for the next two weeks I'll probably wait until I'm 35 or 36 weeks to install, that way if something ever did happen on my ride to work I wouldn't have to worry about getting a new seat. Also we're using an infant seat at first, so I'll likely only install the base for now, and leave the seat itself out until we leave for the hospital.

We're not using an infant carrier, and we've had our convertible seat installed in the car for a few weeks, now. Better safe than sorry.

i have the car seat ready near my hospital bag (that's almost packed cause you never know lol) but the isofix base is installed in my car ready :)

I'm a crazy over preparer. I did both at 30 weeks. Haha but I park in a garage at home and I work in a nicer area where I can see my car.

Some people will say don't install it early because if you get in an accident you'll have to replace it. But really, that doesn't seem like a real risk to me. If you get into an accident a new car seat will only be a small piece of your worries.
