What are hook ups like?

I've never had one, I've only had sex with one person who I was in a relationship with for years. Now that we're done I kind of want to explore my sexuality, I was never able to be myself around my ex while having sex.. What are hook ups usually like? Are they a bad idea?

I wouldnt recommend it honestly. Explore your own body so u get comfortable. If i were u id recommend just trying to become the best version of yourself. Invest in things that are going to make u more confident like hair, makeup, gym, reading, or getting a new job or career. Thise are self esteem builders. I went through a similar phase and can say that I wish I wouldve just waited for the right guy who wanted all of me. Its definitely much better and with the right person u will feel yourself and more confident emotionLly and sexually.
   Also please remember to honor your womanhood. Nothing about sex is casual. It is access to your body and reproductive self and that should never be taken lightly. Even with condom use you are always at risk for stds and sex with a random partner usually doesnt involve seeing std status. Many people are carriers and dont know it and that is risky business sweetheart. Focus on yourself and blossoming into a beautiful women and allow guys to entertain u in a manner that doesnt involve exposing your womanhood to stds and stis and infection. You are worth it😘

Oh man I love hook ups. They're the best part of being single, I miss them so much! They give you such a strong feeling of power. Hookups taught me a lot about sex, especially that I'm more likely to get pleasure if I'm the one in control. They also helped me regain my self confidence after a nasty illness. And they're also a great way to meet new people! I'm now friends with most of the guys I hooked up with and we hang out sometimes.
If you feel like trying, seriously, go ahead! Just you know, be safe and never let them stay over ;)
